In Trim on Nov. 1st 2022, Dr. Ali Mohammad Baabad, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences and Marine Biology, met Eng. Khaled Ahmed Al-Tamimi, President of Hadhramout Cooperative Society for Beekeepers, member of the Agricultural Cooperative Union in Hadhramout.
The visit aimed to discuss cooperation frameworks in scientific and research aspects of partnership between the faculty and the association, in order to serve the bee sector and the quality of honey, through the exchange of experiences, and conducting laboratory analyzes of honey, towards improving the quality of honey and maintaining its reputation and fame, in order to ensure the quality of bee products; To compete in global markets.
As well as the Vice Dean welcomed researchers in the field of bees and honey to enroll in graduate programs in the faculty within the specialization of food science and technology, and environmental sciences, with regard to the quality of honey and its products, and the environment surrounding bees and their products. For his part, Eng. Khalid Al-Tamimi stressed the necessity of conducting survey studies for bee pastures in Hadhramaut.
The meeting was attended by M. Nabil Salem Howaidi, Executive Director of the Association, and Eng. Shawqi Bakir, a specialist in the Water and Food Department of the Central Health Laboratories in Hadhramout Al-Wadi.
