The Faculty of Environmental Sciences and Marine Biology participated in the celebration of World Food Day on October 16th under the slogan “Water is Life, Water is Food” and organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in cooperation with the University of Hadhramout. The Dean of the Faculty and the staff members participated in the opening ceremony and toured the exhibition held on this occasion.
The students of the faculty participated in various projects related to food and water, including projects related to fish farming and feed production, projects related to renewable energy, a project on how to benefit from gray water from ablution and washing processes in irrigation after filtering it with a simple filtration system as well as the use of organic pesticides with the ability to control most agricultural pests. They also displayed some of the food products produced by the faculty to the visitors for sensory evaluation. They praised these steps that serve the community, wishing the students more progress and success in their fields of specialization.
