Marine Biology Department Organizes A Field Visit to the National Fish Packaging and Canning Factory

Students of the Marine Biology Department, along with several staff members and their assistants, organized a scientific visit to the National Fish Packaging and Canning Factory on Thursday morning, November 2, 2023. The purpose of the visit was to observe the stages of the production process for canned tuna, fish powder, and fish oil production. Mr. Saeed Bahmaid, the acting Human Resources Manager, received the delegation. Ms. Rania Al-Ghurabi and Ms. Fatima Bafadil accompanied the students to familiarize them with the components of the factory and the production line for canned tuna, fish powder, and fish oil production details of each production stage and how product quality is controlled. The students were accompanied by Dr. Jafar bin Omar Baamar, the head of the Marine Biology department, Dr. Ahmed Ali Belkadi, Dr. Salah Abdullah bin Fareejan, and Mr. Mustafa Salem Baredi. These activities are part of the plans and programs of the Environmental Sciences and Marine Biology Faculty to provide students with knowledge and experience and to bridge the gap between the scientific and practical aspects of the labor market.
