In the city of Jeddah and under the Sponsored and financed by His Excellency Eng. Abdullah Ahmed Bugshan, Chairman of the university Trustees Board and in the presence of Prof. Mohammed Saeed Khanbash, President of the University and Prof. Salem Mubarak Al-Obthani, deputy president of Student Affairs began the sessions and a workshop entitled : (Managing the educational process according to international quality standards, performance indicators and the construction of the internal quality system at Hadhramout University) during the period from 14 – 17 March 2019.
The workshop will be implemented by three of quality experts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and they are : Prof. Sayed Ahmed Mohamed, Prof. Saleh Othman, and Dr. Mohammed Al-Sharjabi . during its conversion, the workshop will address a number of topics related to the requirements for construct a quality system in universities, including : academic standards for the quality of the educational system, management through strategic planning, achieving goals and continuous improvement, mechanisms for measuring the quality of the academic system, and giving an overview of the quality system at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals; this will be One of the most important outputs of the workshop was to build a draft of the internal quality system at HU as a basic for establishing a unified system for quality in the university and its academic programs.
Prof. Mohammed Saeed Khanbash, President of the University said : This meeting is a confirmation of the direction the university towards activating the responsibility and participation of all members of the university and concerned, to construct the quality of education and ensure continuity in accordance with the academic standards for the quality of the educational system and this is what we hope from the workshop outputs through the draft , which will emerge By developing a proposal for an internal quality system at the University, which we hope all workshop participants will raise through discussion and observations so that the aspirations are fulfilled . He expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency Eng. Abdullah Ahmed Bugshan, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees, for his Sponsored and financed of this workshop and his generous hosting of all its participants . At the same time, he thanked the professors who would participate in the implementation of the workshop and running its session and all the participants who endured the trouble of traveling to participate in the workshop and contribute to its outputs. Prof. Salem Mubarak Al-Obthani, deputy President of Student Affairs added that “ This workshop is of great importance in the university’s scientific and research career; Because it contributes to deepening the culture of quality among the leaders of the university’s faculties. It works on establishing the university’s internal quality management system; Because of its effective role in enhancing the quality of education at the university, and improving its outcomes.” The participants also expressed their hope to benefit from the data and outputs of the workshop in improving the performance of the colleges and establishing the quality system at the university .
