Prof. Salem Mubarak Al-Obathani, Vice President of Hadhramout University for Student Affairs, together with Prof. Abdullah Baradi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Petroleum, officially inaugurated today the competitive admission examinations for the Faculty of Engineering and Petroleum for the 2026–2027 academic year. A total of 654 applicants are competing for admission to the faculty’s various engineering programs.
During the inauguration, held at the faculty’s examination halls in Fuwah, the Vice President and the Dean toured the examination venues and received a briefing from the organizing committee on the examination procedures and the number of applicants. They also wished the students every success in their examinations.
On the occasion, Prof. Al-Obathani reaffirmed the university’s commitment to ensuring transparency, fairness, and equal opportunity throughout the admissions process. He noted that the competitive examinations are designed to provide all applicants with an equal chance of admission under both the regular and special admission schemes.
For his part, Prof. Baradi stated that the faculty had received a large number of applications this year from students seeking admission to its engineering programs. He affirmed that all academic and administrative preparations had been completed and that the necessary arrangements were in place to ensure the smooth and efficient administration of the examinations.
According to the General Administration of Admissions and Registration, the total number of applicants registered across all faculties at Hadhramout University has reached approximately 2,688 for the 2026–2027 academic year. Admission and registration will remain open in the Faculties of Science, Arts, and Education until the end of August 2026.
The inauguration was attended by the Vice Deans and Heads of Departments of the Faculty of Engineering and Petroleum, as well as Mr. Abdullah Bin Tha‘lab, Director General of Admissions and Registration at Hadhramout University.
