The committees overseeing the celebration of the 70th anniversary of Yemeni–Chinese relations, chaired by Prof. Mohamed Khanbash, President of Hadhramout University, reviewed today the progress made during the past period in preparation for the event.

The Commemorative Book Committee reported that approximately 90% of the publication has been completed. Part of the book will be published in three languages: Chinese, English, and Arabic.

The Exhibition Committee also presented an update on the work completed so far, including exhibition panels and designs incorporating artificial intelligence technologies. The exhibition is scheduled to remain open throughout the three-day celebration.

Meanwhile, the Scientific Committee approved six high-quality research papers, which will be presented on the second day of the event. The papers are also expected to be published in the University’s scientific journal and included in the commemorative publication.

The meeting also discussed the themes and arrangements for a planned television panel discussion, which will feature representatives of the Local Authority in Hadhramout, Chinese representatives, and academics. The discussion will explore the historical roots of Yemeni–Chinese relations and their development over the decades.

Plans for dedicated social media pages and accounts were also reviewed to broaden public engagement and facilitate the dissemination of information about the celebration and its activities.

This widely welcomed initiative reflects Hadhramout University’s commitment to strengthening its engagement with the community and benefiting from the experiences of countries with long-standing achievements and expertise across diverse fields. It also highlights the University’s role in documenting historical relations and promoting opportunities for cultural and academic cooperation.
