Renewable Energy and Teacher Capacity Building at the Center of a Strategic Meeting Between Hadhramout University and the Coastal Education Office

A high-level meeting was held this morning at the Center for Renewable Energy Studies and Research at Hadhramout University, chaired by Prof. Abdullah Ahmed Baradi, Director of the Center, and attended by Mr. Amin Abdullah Baabad, Director of the Ministry of Education Office in Hadhramout Coast, and his Deputy, Mr. Alawi Ahmed Al-Hamed. The meeting focused on exploring areas of cooperation and establishing an effective institutional partnership between the academic and educational sectors.

Discussions centered on ways to utilize the Center’s scientific expertise and consultancy capabilities to meet the energy needs of educational buildings and institutions through sustainable energy solutions. Participants reviewed practical alternatives aimed at improving the efficiency of educational infrastructure and ensuring greater operational stability across the education sector.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of strengthening teachers’ knowledge and professional skills. As a result, an agreement was reached for the Center to oversee the implementation of specialized training programs targeted particularly at Physics and Science teachers, providing them with practical knowledge of solar energy systems and wind energy technologies. These programs are intended to help teachers keep pace with scientific advancements and transfer both theoretical and practical expertise to students through modern educational approaches, thereby enhancing learning outcomes.

During the meeting, Mr. Baabad commended the Center’s significant scientific and research contributions in addressing community challenges. He reaffirmed the Education Office’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Hadhramout University and its specialized centers in order to benefit from their expertise and research outputs in advancing the educational process.

For his part, Prof. Baradi presented an overview of the Center’s key activities, research projects, and strategic vision for promoting environmental sustainability and the adoption of clean energy solutions. He emphasized the Center’s full readiness to provide technical and advisory support, contribute to specialized studies, and play an active role in training and developing educational personnel in this vital field.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to establish a joint framework for cooperation that will coordinate efforts among the relevant institutions and facilitate the exchange of expertise. This framework aims to create a stable educational environment rooted in the principles of sustainable development and aligned with the latest global trends in renewable energy.

The meeting was attended by some specialists and officials from the Ministry of Education Office in Hadhramout Coast and the Center for Renewable Energy Studies and Research at Hadhramout University.
