The Inter-Faculty Sports Championship at Hadhramout University, featuring table tennis and chess competitions for male and female students, will commence tomorrow morning under the patronage of the University President, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash, at Prof. Dr. Ali Hood Ba‘abbad Hall in Al-Insha’at.
These competitions are held as part of the activities of the Fifteenth University Student Week 2026, with support from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The championship is organized by Hadhramout University in partnership with the Hadhramout Youth Services Center and the Youth Without Borders for Development Organization, in coordination with the Youth and Sports Office of the Hadhramout Coast, and will continue until April 23rd.

A total of 11 faculties from the university will participate in the championship, with 12 students representing each faculty, evenly distributed between the two games. Each faculty will be represented by six participants in chess and six in table tennis, totaling 132 students.
The championship aims to promote sportsmanship and a spirit of fair competition among students, as well as to discover and nurture young talents in both intellectual and physical sports. This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to supporting extracurricular student activities and fostering a well-rounded student experience.
