The Vice Presidency for Student Affairs at Hadhramout University is currently making intensive preparations for the closing and award ceremony of the Fifteenth University Student Week (2026) an event eagerly anticipated by students across the University. The ceremony represents the culmination of a full academic year characterized by dedication, creativity, and outstanding student achievement.

The ceremony will mark the official conclusion of the 2025/2026 academic year, which witnessed remarkable dynamism and diversity across scientific, athletic, and cultural domains. Throughout the year, Hadhramout University students demonstrated notable capabilities and creativity, earning recognition both within and beyond the university community.

Among the most prominent activities whose winners and distinguished participants will be honored are

  • the Eleventh Student Scientific Research Conference, which showcased high-quality research outputs reflecting advanced levels of scientific thinking.
  • the Tenth University Student Creativity Awards, celebrating promising talents in the fields of arts, literature, and innovation.
  • the sports championships, most notably table tennis and chess, which featured strong competition and exemplary sportsmanship among the University’s faculties.

Prof. Dr. Salem Mubarak Al-Obathani, Vice President for Student Affairs, emphasized that the ceremony is not merely a celebratory occasion, but a well-deserved recognition of students’ sustained efforts throughout the academic year. He noted that the 2025/2026 academic year was exceptional by all standards, featuring a wide range of activities, including internal and external training programs, student debates, awareness lectures, and culminating in a landmark achievement the organization of the First Entrepreneurship Hackathon, which represented a significant step toward aligning academic outcomes with labor market demands and community needs.

The closing ceremony is expected to be attended by senior officials, including local authorities, university leadership, faculty deans, and honored students and participants, in an atmosphere befitting the scale of achievements accomplished. The event will also recognize partner institutions from the public sector, civil society organizations, and the private sector, reaffirming the importance of effective community partnership and highlighting the University’s pivotal role in nurturing talent and developing students’ academic and leadership competencies.
