The Organizing Committee for the celebration of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Yemen and China at Hadhramout University has approved the contents of a commemorative book to be published as part of the celebration. The publication will serve as a scholarly and historical reference documenting the development of bilateral relations between the two countries over the past seven decades.

During a meeting chaired by Prof. Mohamed Khanbash, Hadhramout University President, and attended by Prof. Abdullah Babair, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Mr. Salem Al-Bahsani, Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Office in Hadhramout; Dr. Lotfi Bin Dahman, Director of the Center for International Relations and University Ranking; Dr. Saeed Al-Amoudi, Director of the University Information Center; Mr. Khaled Bin Buraik, Head of the Exhibition Committee; and Dr. Adeeb Al-Shatri, Director General of Media, the committee approved the book’s contents and noted that approximately 85% of the manuscript has been completed.

The book explores the historical foundations of diplomatic and cultural relations between Yemen and China since the establishment of official diplomatic ties. It also examines key lessons from China’s development experience across various sectors. The opening chapter will feature messages from the President of Hadhramout University, the Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to China, the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Yemen, and the Chair of the Book’s Scientific Committee.

The committee also reviewed progress in preparing the accompanying art exhibition, which will be hosted at Dr. Ali Hood Hall, and discussed the remaining logistical and media arrangements to ensure the successful organization of the event.

These preparations reflect Hadhramout University’s commitment to documenting the longstanding friendship between Yemen and China while strengthening opportunities for academic and cultural cooperation that serve the mutual interests of both countries. They also reaffirm the university’s role as an active contributor to promoting Yemeni-Chinese relations.
