Mr. Abdullah Mahdi Baqrwan; Acting Executive Director of the Benevolent Fund for Outstanding Students in Mukalla, met with Dr. Ali Muhammad Baabad, the Deputy Dean of the Environmental Sciences and Marine Biology faculty at Hadhramout University.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Abdullah Baqrwan welcomed Dr. Ali Baabbad, expressing his appreciation for the visit and his interest in activating the partnership between the two parties. He highlighted the importance of the faculty, as an important educational institution that promotes environmental landmarks and marine resources in the governorate.
In the same context, the Deputy Dean of the faculty praised the work and projects carried out by the fund and their commitment to the main goal of supporting outstanding students and activating the mutual aspect with the faculty. He discussed the possibility of granting scholarships to students for postgraduate programs, as well as the possibility of opening new departments that serve its specialties. He also discussed coordinating a field visit for environmental faculty students to the ports of the Yemeni Arabian Sea and discussing summer training in relevant factories and institutions.
From his part, Mr. Abdullah Baqrwan expressed his readiness to adopt these ideas after discussing them with the founder, Dr. Omar Bamahsoon, and the acting founder, Dr. Abha Abdullah Baaweidan. Several institutions were selected for summer training for faculty students, in addition to agreeing on the development of a matrix of training courses to be accomplished in partnership between the two parties.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Jaafar Omar Baamer, the Head of the Marine Biology Department, and Dr. Nada Sheikh Molla Al-Dawila, the Head of the Environmental Sciences Department. From the fund were Mr. Ahmed Zubair; Deputy Executive Director for University Affairs, and Ms. Alawya Masjadi; Public Relations and Media Specialist.
