Students from Environmental Sciences and Marine Biology Faculty specifically the Department of Environmental Sciences at Hadhramout University participated in the recycling event titled “Turning Waste into a Source of Renewal.” The activity was organized by the Atharna Akhdar Initiative and the Peace Environmental Club, under the supervision of the University of Science and Technology in Hadhramout, on Thursday, 7 November 2024.
This event embodied the spirit of collaboration between students of the Faculty and those from other universities and institutes. During the activity, students presented several creative works demonstrating how plastic materials can be reused and recycled instead of being discarded, noting the environmental damage caused by their resistance to natural decomposition and the harmful emissions generated when burned as a disposal method.
