Faculty of Environmental Sciences and Marine Biology Holds a Welcoming Ceremony for First-Level Students and Honors High Achievers

The Faculty of Environmental Sciences and Marine Biology at Hadhramout University held a welcoming ceremony on Tuesday, 18 November 2025, to receive first-level students for the academic year 2025–2026, with the attendance of department heads, faculty members, and their teaching assistants.

The ceremony commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by student presentations representing both newly admitted and graduating students. This was followed by a welcoming address delivered by the President of the Faculty Student Council, Yusuf Suwaid, after which the faculty leadership presented a series of welcoming remarks.

The addresses were delivered by Prof. Dr. Khaled Awad Al-Rubaki, Dean of the Faculty; Dr. Majed Salem Bin Muslim, Vice Dean for Student Affairs; and Dr. Ahmed Eidha Bin Ali Al-Haj, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs. Their speeches introduced the faculty, its academic programs, scientific tracks, student services, and the opportunities available to enhance students’ academic and research skills.

As part of the faculty’s commitment to promoting academic excellence, the ceremony included cultural competitions, followed by honoring top-performing students across the various academic departments, as well as outstanding graduates, in recognition of their efforts and achievements throughout their academic journey and as motivation for other students to pursue excellence.

The event also featured orientation segments aimed at supporting new students in integrating into the university environment and familiarizing them with the faculty’s regulations, academic pathways, and internal systems.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, students expressed their appreciation for the initiative, noting that it strengthened their sense of belonging and provided an encouraging start to their academic experience.
