Faculty of Environmental Sciences and Marine Biology Hosts a Welcome Ceremony for First‑Year Students and Honors Outstanding Students

The Faculty of Environmental Sciences and Marine Biology at Hadhramout University organized, on Tuesday, 18 November 2025, a welcoming ceremony for first‑year students of the 2025–2026 academic year, in the presence of heads of academic departments, faculty members, and their assistants.

The ceremony commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by student presentations representing both new and graduating students, as well as a welcome speech delivered by the President of the Student Council, Mr. Yousef Suwaid. This was followed by welcoming remarks from the Faculty Deanship, represented by Prof. Dr. Khaled Awadh Al‑Rubaki, Vice Dean for Student Affairs Dr. Majed Salem Bin Muslim, and Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Dr. Ahmed Aidhah Bin Ali Al‑Haj. Their speeches provided a general overview of the faculty, its academic programs, and scientific tracks, in addition to highlighting the services and opportunities available to students to enhance their academic and research capabilities.

In line with the faculty’s commitment to supporting academic excellence, the ceremony included cultural competitions, followed by the honoring of top achievers across various academic levels and departments, as well as outstanding graduates, in recognition of their efforts and accomplishments throughout their academic journey and as motivation for other students to strive for excellence.

The event also featured orientation and guidance sessions aimed at helping new students integrate into the university environment, understand academic systems and regulations, and become familiar with study pathways within the faculty.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, students expressed their appreciation for this initiative, noting that it strengthened their sense of belonging and provided an encouraging start to their academic journey.
