The professional development of the University teaching staff is a prerequisite for improving performance in the academic education, developing research skills, and sharing various experiences in the fields of education, research and community service.Today’s community is no longer limited to industrial production, but it is also based on the production of knowledge through using modern, advanced and accelerated scientific techniques, which have become an important part of practicing the profession of education in general, and academic education in particular.From this point, Hadhramout University has endeavored to qualify the teaching staff in order to perform the educational process and to promote their teaching and research skills through the various projects, programs and activities that are conducted by the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center, and that contribute to the professional development of the University teaching staff so as to achieve quality and academic accreditation that is sought by the University through its various programs and activities.

Hadhramout University Documentary Platform (HU-DoP) is a digital collection of the Hadhramout University documents and issues outputs. The main goal of HU-DoP is to collect and preserve all documents and issues materials. Besides, to be presented as an open-access collection.

Encouraging scientific research in theoretical and applied scientific fields is one of the strategic objectives of Hadhramout University. Hence, the University’s vision is to be a leading educational institution in the field of scientific research that encourages innovation and creativity and builds a community based on science and knowledge to serve the sustainable development and to find appropriate solutions to community problems. Within the framework of the University’s efforts to achieve this vision, the General Administration of Scientific Research was established by the Law of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Yemeni Universities Law and the University Council Decision No. 97/2010 dated in 25/5/2010

Research activities are considered to be one of the main contributors to the progress of universities and societies. By coordinating various events, including conferences, Hadhramout University seeks to improve the research activities of its staff.

Based on the Presidential Decree No. 52 of 2017 regarding the establishment of Seiyun University (SU), and on the recommendation of the Prime Minister regarding the affiliation of the colleges, centers and assets of Hadhramout University (HU) that allocate in Wadi Hadhramout to Sieyun University, and based on the decision of the Minister of Higher Education & Scientific Research of 2018 stating the formation of a committee for affiliating HU colleges, centers and assets in Wadi Hadhramout to SU, and with reference to the signed memorandum of understanding between HU and SU Presidents on 18 September 2018 in the same respect; it has decided to separate the following colleges: Education – Seiyun, Applied  Science, Women – Seiyun and the scientific centers: Palms & Dates, and Honey Bee from HU to be affiliated to Seiyun University as from 18^th September 2018, corresponding to 8^th Muharram 1440 A.H
