The Impact of Information Technology on the Efficiency of Human Resources Management: A Field Study on Public Hospitals in Najran Region

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the level of information technology (IT) usage and the efficiency of human resource management (HRM) in public hospitals in the Najran region, KSA, and to examine the impact of IT components on HRM efficiency. The study population consisted of 60 HR staff members from these hospitals. The study used a survey questionnaire and conducted a comprehensive survey of the study population. It reached a number of results, the most important of which are: the level of use of information technology in hospitals was high, and the evaluation of the level of efficiency of human resources management in these hospitals was average. The study showed that there was a statistically significant effect among the components of information technology (computer, software, database) and the efficiency of human resources management. However, the study did not show any statistically significant differences between the research variables attributable to demographic factors.
