CGTN Arabic has expressed its interest in covering Yemeni events and activities organized in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Yemen and China, including broadcasting and publishing media materials, photographs, exhibitions, and related activities, in coordination with the relevant authorities in both countries.
This interest was expressed during a meeting held this morning at the premises of the Cultural Attaché Office between Dr. Mohammed Al‑Ahmadi, Cultural Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in the People’s Republic of China, and Ms. Zou Jialin, representative of CGTN Arabic. The two sides discussed the channel’s coverage of the upcoming events for which Hadhramout University is making final preparations as part of the celebrations marking the seventieth anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, as well as ways to strengthen media and cultural cooperation and expand the presence of Yemeni culture in China.
The meeting also explored prospects for cooperation in promoting Yemeni culture and heritage, in addition to discussing the possibility of involving Yemeni students from schools and universities in activities, programs, and events organized or covered by CGTN Arabic. Such participation would provide an opportunity to present the diversity of Yemen’s culture and civilization and further promote cultural exchange and communication between the Yemeni and Chinese peoples.
In this context, Hadhramout University will host a commemorative event from 22 to 24 September 2026, with the participation of the Chinese Embassy and a number of officials, public figures, and stakeholders interested in Yemeni–Chinese relations. CGTN Arabic is expected to broadcast and publish a range of media materials related to the event, in response to its expressed interest and upon prior coordination with Hadhramout University and the relevant authorities, thereby broadening media coverage of activities associated with this occasion.
The meeting comes within the framework of the Cultural Attaché Office’s efforts to strengthen the Yemeni cultural and media presence in China, provide broader opportunities for Yemeni students to participate in cultural and community activities, and promote Yemeni culture and heritage. These efforts reflect the depth of the historical relations between Yemen and China and contribute to enhancing communication, mutual understanding, and cultural exchange between the peoples of the two countries.
