Prof. Mohamed Khanbash, President of Hadhramout University, has issued a decision appointing Dr. Abdullah Saleh Ali Bakir as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Open Education for Quality Affairs, reflecting the University’s commitment to strengthening quality assurance systems and enhancing academic and administrative performance within the Faculty.

On this occasion, Prof. Atef Saleh Al-Tamimi, Dean of the Faculty of Open Education, welcomed the President’s decision, noting that Dr. Bakir’s appointment comes in recognition of his academic qualifications, specialization in Information Technology, and extensive expertise in emerging digital and technological fields. He wished him success in his new role.

Prof. Al-Tamimi stated that Dr. Bakir represents a valuable addition to the Faculty and will contribute significantly, through his academic and technical expertise, to advancing quality assurance, institutional development, and digital transformation initiatives within the Faculty of Open Education.

Dr. Bakir holds a PhD in Information Technology from Osmania University, India, and currently serves as Head of the Department of Information Technology at the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, Hadhramout University. His academic interests include Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Machine Learning, and he has authored and contributed to a number of published scientific research papers.

This appointment comes as part of the Faculty’s strategic direction toward strengthening quality assurance, expanding digitalization and digital transformation, advancing e-learning and distance education, and leveraging modern technologies to enhance academic and administrative services. These efforts align with rapid developments in educational technology and support the Faculty’s future development plans.
