Prof. Dr. Atef Al-Tamimi, Dean of Open Education Faculty at Hadhramout University, received Sheikh Obaid Saleh Bin Kardous Al-Tamimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kardous Commercial Group and Director of the Kardous Foundation for Development, at the College’s headquarters in Mukalla. During the meeting, both parties discussed the development of open and distance education programs and the faculty’s role in expanding access to university education for students across different areas of Hadhramout Governorate.
Prof. Dr. Al-Tamimi emphasized the importance of community partnerships and the contributions of the private sector and business leaders in supporting the advancement of higher education. He praised the role of the Kardous Holding Group in supporting a number of developmental projects and initiatives in Hadhramout, reaffirming the College’s commitment to building effective channels of communication and cooperation with various institutions and community figures in support of the educational process.
The meeting also reviewed several issues related to the development of the College of Open Education and explored prospects for enhancing open and distance learning programs, while improving the educational environment and support services provided to students.
For his part, Sheikh Obaid Saleh Bin Kardous Al-Tamimi expressed his pleasure at visiting the College and learning about its activities and academic programs. He underscored his strong interest in education as one of the fundamental pillars of sustainable development and human capital development, commending the efforts of the College’s leadership in improving its performance and strengthening its contribution to community service.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Dean of the College noted that engagement with community leaders and business professionals constitutes a valuable source of support for institutional development, educational advancement, and the service of the people of Hadhramout.
The visit forms part of a broader series of meetings and engagements aimed at strengthening communication with individuals and organizations that support education and development in Hadhramout, while fostering community engagement and opening new avenues for cooperation that contribute to educational and developmental progress within the governorate.
