The Vice Presidency for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at Hadhramout University conducted personal interviews yesterday for 11 male and female applicants competing for graduate scholarships in the Ph.D. Program in Life Sciences at the Faculty, funded by the Selah Foundation for Development.
The competition for these doctoral scholarships reflects the University’s commitment to directing graduate studies and scientific research toward topics and issues that contribute to serving society and addressing its priority needs and challenges.
The interview committee comprised Prof. Dr. Salem Faraj Bamasoud, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research; Dr. Fozy Amer Bin Hweel, Director General of the Vice Presidency for Graduate Studies; and Dr. Khaled Saleh Bin Al-Sheikh Abu Bakr, Director General of Scientific Research.
The interviews focused on evaluating applicants’ academic backgrounds, research interests, and proposed research projects, while emphasizing the importance of aligning research topics with societal needs and challenges and promoting studies that can generate tangible benefits for the community.
The scholarship program is part of the strategic partnership between Hadhramout University and the Selah Foundation for Development to support higher education and scientific research. It aims to transform graduate study opportunities into an effective pathway for producing impactful scientific research, enhancing researchers’ capacities, developing evidence-based solutions to community challenges, and strengthening the University’s role in advancing local development.
