HU Organizes IPePC Conference
Within the celebrations of the 25th Anniversary of the University Establishment, the University organized a scientific conference entitled "The Impact of International Publication and e-Portals on the Global Classifications of Universities (IPePC)” funded by Alawn Foundation for Development. At the inaugural meeting of the conference, the Major General /Faraj Saleem Al-Bahsni, Governor of Hadhramout Governorate and Commander of the 2nd Military Region, praised this scientific conference which coincides with the celebrations of the 2nd anniversary to liberate the Coast of Hadhramout. He also stressed the importance of this conference in raising the visibility of Hadhramout University, and thanked the University Presidency for organizing the Conference, and Alawn Foundation for Development for its supports of various aspects of education.
Prof. Mohamed Saeed Khanbash, the University Rector, said that the aim of this scientific conference was to provide an insight into the International classification of universities and its objectives and criteria, highlight the experience of some Arab and Islamic universities in raising their global rankings and make use of their experience in raising the rank of our University.
The conference discussed a number of work sheets about the impact of international publication of scientific production on the universities ranking in global classifications, and the importance of e-portals as a criteria of universities classification globally, as well as some Arab and Islamic universities experiences in raising their rank of classification, presented by selected Academics from Hadhramout University and some Arab and Islamic universities from Egypt and Malaysia.
The conference was attended by the University Rector’s Deputies, Deans and Deputies of the colleges, heads of scientific departments and directors of the University Centers, as well as a number of interested delegations and researchers.
