The Faculty of Nursing at Hadhramout University organized a celebratory event yesterday to mark the 20th anniversary of its establishment, coinciding with International Nurses Day, under the patronage of the University President, Prof. Mohamed Khanbash, and in collaboration with the Student Council.
On this occasion, the Faculty honored top-achieving students from various academic levels, as well as winners of several student competitions, including chess, cultural competitions, tennis, the Nursing Cup, Baloot, and PlayStation tournaments. The ceremony also recognized graduates of the student-led “Tiryaq” Initiative and graduating members of the Student Council.
The Faculty also honored former deans, several distinguished nursing professionals working in hospitals and healthcare institutions, and several supporting organizations and partners.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by official speeches highlighting the noble mission of the nursing profession and the Faculty’s vital role in preparing qualified healthcare professionals capable of serving the community efficiently and compassionately.
During the ceremony, Prof. Abdullah Saeed Al-Hanashi, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, delivered the Faculty’s address, while Dr. Afaf Badris, Deputy Director General of the Public Health and Population Office in Hadhramout Coast, delivered a speech on behalf of the Health Office. The speakers emphasized the Faculty’s significant contribution over the past two decades in supplying the healthcare sector with competent nursing professionals and extended their congratulations to nurses worldwide on the occasion of International Nurses Day. They also stressed the importance of empowering nursing professionals and providing them with the support necessary to perform their duties effectively.
In recognition of their valuable contributions to supporting the Faculty’s activities and the Student Council, the ceremony honored several sponsoring institutions, including Al-Wa’al Foundation for General Contracting and Import, the Charitable Fund Foundation for Outstanding Students, and the Al-Amal Cultural and Social Women’s Foundation, in addition to other organizations that provided financial and moral support.
The event concluded with renewed emphasis on the importance of continuing to support academic excellence and student activities, while promoting values of dedication, service, and institutional belonging, in a manner that reflects the Faculty’s distinguished journey of excellence and contribution over the past twenty years.
