Under the Chairmanship of Dr. Babair, the Preparatory Committee Continues Its Work for the Celebration of the 70th Anniversary of Yemeni–Chinese Relations

The Preparatory Committee for the celebration marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Yemen and the People’s Republic of China held its second regular meeting today under the chairmanship of the Acting President of Hadhramout University, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Saleh Babair, Vice President for Academic Affairs, to review the latest developments in preparations for the upcoming event.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador Saleh Al‑Bahsani, Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Office in Hadhramout and member of the Preparatory Committee, along with Dr. Mohammed Al‑Ahmadi, Yemen’s Cultural Attaché in China, who participated via Zoom, as well as Dr. Saeed Abdulqader Al‑Amoudi, Dr. Khaled Bin Buraik, and Dr. Adeeb Al‑Shatiri.

During the meeting, the committee reviewed reports submitted by the heads of the subcommittees outlining the tasks and activities completed since the previous meeting.

The participants also discussed a number of requirements and budgetary needs for implementing the various celebration activities. In addition, they reviewed the proposed content of the documentary book that will accompany the event, the planned art exhibition, and the proposed media and documentation activities, all aimed at highlighting the depth of the historic bilateral relations between the two friendly countries over seven decades of fruitful cooperation.

Prof. Dr. Babair emphasized the importance of organizing an event that reflects the significance of this historic occasion and showcases the strength of Yemeni–Chinese relations. He stressed the importance of documenting the history of cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic, cultural, and academic fields, while underscoring the need for coordination among all subcommittees to ensure the timely completion of their assigned responsibilities according to the established schedule.
