Dr. Khaled Mahfouz Bahreesh, Undersecretary of Hadhramout Governorate for Energy Affairs, met yesterday morning at his office with Prof. Abdullah Ahmed Baradi, Director of the Center for Renewable Energy Studies and Research at Hadhramout University.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the current state of the energy sector in the governorate and explored ways to advance the sector by leveraging the academic and research expertise available at the Center. Discussions also focused on strengthening the role of renewable energy as a strategic option that can contribute to the sustainability of essential services and reduce pressure on conventional energy systems.
Dr. Bahreesh emphasized the Local Authority’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with academic and research institutions. He praised the efforts of Hadhramout University and the Center for Renewable Energy Studies and Research in providing scientific expertise, technical consultations, and practical solutions that support development in the governorate.
For his part, Prof. Baradi affirmed the Center’s readiness to mobilize its research capabilities and technical expertise in support of the energy sector in Hadhramout. He highlighted the Center’s capacity to provide technical and applied studies that can contribute to expanding renewable energy projects, improving their efficiency, and supporting their sustainable development.
The meeting was also attended by Consultant Researcher Majed Awad Bahuwairith.
