Hadhramout Energy Affairs Undersecretary Visits the University’s Center for Renewable Energy Studies and Research to Explore Cooperation and Strengthen Research

Dr. Khaled Mahfouz Bahreesh, Undersecretary of Hadhramout Governorate for Energy Affairs, visited the Center for Renewable Energy Studies and Research at Hadhramout University yesterday to learn about the Center’s activities, its key scientific and research achievements, and the academic and consultancy services it provides in the field of sustainable energy.

He was received by Prof. Abdullah Ahmed Baradi, Director of the Center, an expert in renewable energy and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Petroleum at Hadhramout University.

During the visit, Dr. Bahreesh toured the Center’s departments and laboratories and was briefed on its modern equipment and facilities, the mechanisms for making them available to researchers and specialists, and the Center’s role in providing technical and specialized consultations to government institutions, private-sector organizations, and the local community.

Dr. Bahreesh praised the Center’s scientific capabilities and specialized expertise, emphasizing the Local Authority’s commitment to supporting distinguished research institutions and benefiting from their scientific outputs to address energy-related challenges across the governorate.

For his part, Prof. Baradi welcomed the visit and expressed his appreciation for the Local Authority’s interest in the Center and its scientific activities. He reaffirmed the Center’s readiness to strengthen cooperation and establish effective partnerships that contribute to the sustainable development of the energy sector in Hadhramout.

The visit was attended by Prof. Rizq Saadallah Al-Jabri, Executive Director of the Hadhramout Foundation for Humanitarian and Strategic Studies; Mr. Majed Bahuwairith, Researcher and Energy Specialist at the Center; and Mr. Yousuf Amroun, Technical Specialist at the Center.
