Hadhramout University Launches Competitive Admission Examinations for Graduate Programs

Prof. Mohamed Khanbash, President of Hadhramout University, together with Prof. Salem Faraj Bamasoud, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, officially launched the competitive admission examinations for Master’s and PhD programs offered by the University’s faculties for the 2026–2027 academic year. The examinations were held at the Ali Ahmed Ba Kathir Hall at the University Presidency.

A total of 223 applicants participated in the admission examinations across various disciplines, including 56 applicants for PhD programs and 167 applicants for Master’s programs.

The PhD programs offered this year include Business Administration in the Faculty of Administrative Sciences (regular study mode) and Business Administration in the Faculty of Open Education. Master’s programs include Business Administration in the Faculty of Administrative Sciences (regular study mode), Business Administration in the Faculty of Open Education, Accounting, and Law.

Applicants are required to sit for examinations in Arabic Language and Computer Skills, in addition to personal interviews conducted by the relevant academic departments within the respective faculties.

In this context, Prof. Bamasoud explained that the University has introduced several new academic programs for the 2026–2027 academic year, including the Master’s in Clinical Pharmacy at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and the Master’s in Art Education at the College of Women. In addition, two new PhD programs have been introduced at the Faculty of Arts: Sociology and Modern and Contemporary History.

He emphasized that these newly established programs are part of the strategic plan of the Vice Presidency for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, aimed at developing and expanding academic and scientific programs to meet both academic and societal needs.

The Vice President for Graduate Studies also encouraged applicants to exert their best efforts in competing for admission to their desired programs, wishing them success in pursuing their postgraduate studies at Hadhramout University.

The examinations were also attended by Mr. Yasser Ahmed Baabad, General Director of Admissions and Registration at the Vice Presidency for Graduate Studies.
