The Vice Presidency for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at Hadhramout University has announced the availability of postgraduate scholarships dedicated to research topics related to local community needs, as part of the university’s commitment to strengthening the role of scientific research in serving society and contributing to addressing its challenges and priorities.
This initiative aims to support ambitious male and female students in pursuing their postgraduate studies while directing their research efforts toward real-world issues of significance and priority to the community, thereby contributing to the production of scientific knowledge and practical, applicable solutions.
Through these scholarships, the university seeks to shift the focus of scientific research from general academic subjects toward addressing actual community problems and needs. This approach enhances the developmental impact of postgraduate studies and reinforces the university’s role as a scientific institution that contributes to identifying local challenges, analyzing their causes, and proposing appropriate solutions based on sound scientific and methodological foundations.
The announced scholarships cover a number of scientific and humanities disciplines, reflecting the diversity of research topics targeted by the initiative and their connection to community needs. The scholarships include: Master’s scholarships in Clinical Pharmacy ,Master’s scholarships in Criminal Law ,Master’s scholarships in Art Education, Master’s scholarships in Educational Administration – Socotra.
These scholarships provide qualified students with the opportunity to pursue postgraduate studies while working on research topics identified within the program’s framework for community service and in accordance with both disciplinary requirements and local development needs.
The diversity of these fields allows community issues to be examined from different scientific perspectives and supports the production of studies whose findings and recommendations can assist decision-makers, relevant institutions, and stakeholders, while maximizing the impact of postgraduate research on development and societal issues.
The program is funded by the Silah Foundation for Development, as part of the foundation’s contribution to supporting and developing postgraduate programs at Hadhramout University and strengthening partnerships between academic and development institutions in service of the local community.
The funding of these scholarships reflects the Foundation’s commitment to supporting higher education and scientific research, expanding opportunities for students to pursue postgraduate studies, and directing research efforts toward development-related issues and community priorities.
In this context, Prof. Dr. Salem Faraj Bamasoud, Acting Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, expressed his appreciation to the Silah Foundation for Development for funding the scholarships. He commended the Foundation’s role in supporting and enhancing postgraduate programs at the university and affirmed that the university remains committed to linking scientific research with community requirements and needs by directing studies and research toward local issues, thereby contributing scientific solutions that support development efforts and generate a tangible impact on society.
Prof. Dr. Bamasoud called upon students who meet the university’s eligibility, admission, and registration requirements and wish to benefit from these scholarships to review the application conditions and procedures and submit their documents within the specified timeframe.
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must satisfy all university eligibility, admission, and registration requirements and agree to adopt the research topic assigned by the interview committee from among the approved scholarship research themes. He noted that the application deadline is 15 September 2026.
