Hadhramout University is celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Yemen and China from September 22 to 24.

Dr. Adeeb Al-Shatiri, Chair of the Media Committee, said that the Celebration Committee will hold a meeting today, chaired by Hadhramout University President Prof. Dr. Mohamed Khanbash, to finalize preparations for the major event, which will be held on the University campus.

He said the event will be held under the patronage of Presidential Leadership Council Member and Hadhramout Governor Salem Al-Khanbashi and will feature an academic and cultural program comprising a scientific seminar, an art exhibition, a documentary film, and a formal ceremony.

Al-Shatiri noted that the celebration reflects the depth of the historical relations between the two countries, dating back to the visit of the Chinese navigator Zheng He to Aden in 1416 AD and extending to the current partnership that has made China Yemen’s largest trading partner, with bilateral trade exceeding $5 billion.

Al-Shatiri also called on academics, members of the public, media outlets, and influencers to cover the event, which represents a platform for exploring prospects for future cooperation between the two countries.
