The Faculty of Open Education at Hadhramout University signed today a partnership agreement with the Al‑Amal Cultural and Social Women’s Foundation, aimed at implementing a distance education program for students of the Faculty of Open Education in Ash Shihr District, as part of efforts to expand access to university services and promote community development within the governorate.

The signing ceremony, held under the patronage of the University President, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Khanbash, was attended by the Vice President for Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Salem Al‑Obathani. The agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. Atef Al‑Tamimi, Dean of the Faculty of Open Education, and Dr. Abha Abdullah Baawaidhan, President of the Al‑Amal Foundation.

The agreement seeks to contribute to sustainable community development and support the residents of the district in the field of education by providing academic and student services to students of the Faculty of Open Education. It will also enable students to sit for their examinations at a designated center in Ash Shihr District, in coordination with the Community College Branch in Ash Shihr and under the supervision of the Faculty of Open Education at Hadhramout University.

This initiative comes within the university’s strategy of establishing partnerships with civil society organizations and various sectors to support the development of higher education in Hadhramout and neighboring areas, while reducing obstacles faced by students in remote regions.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahmed Sultan, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies; Mr. Munir Salem Marei, Secretary‑General of the Future Colleges Complex; and Mr. Salmeen Basurah, Financial Director of the Faculty.
