A workshop for evaluating the master’s program in the Department of English at the college of Arts, which was held in the Literary Hall of Ahmed Awad Bawazir at the college of Arts, recommended providing an appropriate environment, a reading library and an electronic library so that students and researchers in the field of English can follow the new in the world of language, and it recommended to request visiting professors from outside the Republic To increase the level of exchange of expertise and research experiences, it also recommended describing courses and modifying their studies in levels
Dr. Hadi Salem Al-Sabban, Acting Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, described the department as pivotal in the Prosecution of Graduate Studies, adding in his speech at the opening of the workshop that through our visits to many countries of the world, Hadhramout University holds a number of partnerships with international universities. Universities adopt the English language in their dealings. This means that the role of this department will be strengthened to meet our need for a cadre who is fluent in the English language and takes a serious stand in these fields and forums. the coming years. Dr. Muhammad Awad Barshid, Dean of the College of Arts, said in a speech at the opening of the workshop that holding such workshops for the scientific departments in the college is evidence that the college is taking rapid steps towards describing academic courses and reaching the college to the peak of scientific engagement with the aspirations of the university and the Academic Development and Quality Assurance Center in the University. A workshop on evaluating the master’s program in Linguistics and English Language Studies discussed five areas
1- The field of study plan and courses.
2-The field of teaching methods and technology used.
3- The field of evaluation methods used by college members, and the field of field experiences and supervision of scientific theses. New recommendations and mechanisms have been made for the admission of students to the program. Dr. Ali Saleh Al-Husseini, head of the department, said that the outputs of the English language department in the master’s and postgraduate degrees are good and have acceptance abroad through their participation in international forums, their continued study and access to study seats without significant obstacles. The workshop was attended by Dr. Hassan Al-Fadhli, Deputy Dean of the college of Arts for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Khaled Awad bin Makhashin, Deputy Dean of the college of Arts for Student Affairs, Dr. Ali Al-Husseini, Head of the English Language Department at the college, and members of the college and teaching assistants in the department.
