On Monday, Geography department – Faculty of Arts , held a workshop on developing the Bachelor Program , with Academic Development & Quality Assurance Center .
In the opening ceremony , Prof. Abdullah Saleh Babair, vice president for Academic Affairs , said , “The University has intensified its efforts to improve the adequacy and quality of academic education and will continue its work on developing its facilities”.
Prof. Mohammed Awad Parshid, Dean of Faculty of Arts, noted that the Faculty was dedicated to holding such a workshop, which would contribute to the application of sound academic foundations and coordinate efforts to promote the Faculty to the level of quality in all courses of education, as it had become a reliable foundation in various sectors throughout the world.
After discussion and deliberation, the participants concluded that the distinct needs needed to be met and linking the department with relevant agencies to enable it to carry out its mandated tasks.
The discussion session of the workshop was supervised by Prof. Salem Basreeh as Chairman, Dr. Warda Al-Mohammadi, Director of the Quality Program at the Academic Center, Dr. Mohammed Mogabeel, Head of the Quality Committee at the Geography Department and Director of the Center for Humanities and Social Studies, and Dr. Omar Al-Mohammadi, member and rapporteur of the committee.
