Quality Affairs Deputyship Holds a Workshop at Arts Faculty

Under the patronage of the Deanship of the Arts Faculty, a workshop was held by the Quality Affairs Deputyship at the faculty. It was as an important step toward improving the performance and outputs of the faculty departments
During his speech at the workshop yesterday, Tuesday, after welcoming and directing the heads of scientific departments and the director of the Quality Unit at the Academic Development Center at the university, Ms. Warda Ahmed Al-Mohammadi, stressed the importance of the workshop in introducing the educational outcomes and coming up with recommendations as well with regard to the requirements of the faculty and its evaluation. In her turn, Ms. Warda Al-Mohammadi spoke about the first axis of the workshop, which is related to learning outcomes, and she clarified by presenting the concepts and the practical mechanism used to ensure a good description of the educational programs of the departments in a way that meets the quality standards.Dr. Atef Saleh Al-Tamimi, Deputy Dean for Quality Affairs, touched on the second axis of the workshop regarding the requirements of the faculty, where he reviewed the results of meetings of the committee assigned by the faculty Council, and after extensive discussion by the attendees, the workshop came out with a number of important recommendations, including:

The attendees praised what has been accomplished in terms of describing the academic programs of most of the scientific departments of the faculty and urging the departments that did not complete the description of the need to quickly complete the rest, in coordination with the Deanship of the faculty and the Deputy Dean for Quality Affairs in the faculty and in the presence of a representative of the specialists at the Academic Development Center at the university .The attendees recommended the necessity of holding future workshops and training courses in the field of quality and academic development. They also recommended the faculty’s scientific departments to submit proposals for the faculty’s requirements and to discuss them with the committee assigned by the faculty council in line with the need for scientific programs in the faculty and the importance of scientific and theoretical modernization and comparison with the colleges’ requirements in the corresponding universities. The workshop was attended by Dr. Khalid Awadh bin Makhashin,Deputy  Dean for Student Affairs, Prof. Hassan Obaid Al-Fadhli, Deputy Dean for postgraduate Studies Affairs, heads of scientific departments, and a number of professors at the faculty
