The Inauguration of Rehabilitation and Preparation of the Discussion and Symposium Hall Project for Postgraduate Studies at Science College

Prof.  Mohammed Saeed Khanbash; HU President, inaugurated a project to rehabilitate and equip the discussion and symposium hall for postgraduate studies at Science College with Prof. Salem Mubarak Al-Awbthani; Vice President for Student Affairs, Prof. Hadi Salem Al-Sabban; Acting Vice President for postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Mr. Ali Bashmakh; Executive Director of the Silah Foundation for Development, Prof. Abdullah Bin Othman; Executive Director of Al-Awn Foundation for Development, and Eng. Waseem Rabihan; Executive Director of the Student Care Association. It was funded by Al-Awn and Silah Foundations for Development, and implemented by the Student Care Association under the supervision of the university.

At the opening ceremony, HU President indicated that this project comes within the framework of the real partnership between the university, Al-Awn and Silah Foundations for Development and the Student Care Association, which aims to improve the university’s infrastructure. He confirmed that Hadhramout University is proud of its partnership with these foundations. Moreover, he said that this project coincides with the announcement by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research that the year 2020 is the year of scientific research, pointing out that an agreement will be signed with these foundations to rehabilitate the dormitory building for students in  Al-Ghalila Colleges complex. In addition, he noted that the university has expanded its postgraduate programs; in order to provide opportunities of higher education for students who are unable to continue their higher studies abroad. The postgraduate programs reached 46 programs in all majors, confirming that the university opened the Women’s House project in Fuwa, during the past few days, in order to provide good service to students at the university.

On his part, Dr. Raed Saleh Bathan; Dean of Science College, indicated that this project is one of the partnership results between the university and the donor foundations. He said that the opening of the study hall coincides with the opening of the master’s program for physics, and that planning is underway to open the doctoral program. He expressed his thanks and appreciation to everyone who contributed to the completion of this project, which will serve the postgraduate students of the college.

Form his side, Mr. Ali Bashmakh; Executive Director of the Silah Foundation for Development, confirmed that this project is one of the achievements of the partnership between the university and these foundations, and an extension of the partnerships of previous institutions with Hadhramout University. He said that these foundations annually provide educational projects and infrastructure rehabilitation projects for the various university facilities for the development of scientific outcomes. He added that Al-Awn and Silah Foundation for Development are major partners with Hadhramout University, hoping that this partnership will continue for the coming years.

Eng. Waseem Rabihan; Executive Director of the Student Care Association, said that this project aims to improve the quality of education at the university, in order to enhance the previous agreements of the postgraduate scholarship program, and to create a stimulating environment for postgraduate students, as Hadhramout University has taken steps towards quality and academic accreditation that has a concrete impact in raising the university’s ranking globally.
